Tasmania

Tasmania Region

Welcome to Tasmania! Yes, we know Tasmania can be hilly and we do have rides that take advantage of the beauty and challenge of those hills. But we’ve also got “Tasmanian Flat” rides on quiet roads through scenic countryside. Come see for yourself!

In the 2022/2023 season, we will continue to have shorter rides that take in a variety of routes and scenery in Tasmania on sealed roads, gravel and dirt. Many of our rides are 200 km or shorter!

However, we do include some challenges such as our 200 km ASH Dash with over 4000 metres of climbing, our Northern Nouveau series where riders can cover 300 km in a weekend, and a couple Super Randonneur series of 200 km, 300 km, 400 km and 600 km.

Cold Blow 300
When people think Audax it usually conjures up 400 or 600km rides. But a raid offers a different experience, measured in days rather than speed it’s a good chance to do a longer tour type of ride.

March Madness aka April Animation 300K (2016)
We cycled right along the foreshore, and I could hear the waves, and over a long pedestrian cycling bridge which was quite nice. And then my computer seemed to go into slow motion … ticking over the kilometres at a glacial pace. I was soaked and tired, various things ached, and I was really looking forward to being done. 30 km to go … 29.5 km to go … 29.2 km to go … don’t look at the computer! … 28.7 km to go … think about something else! … 27.3 km to go …

BNB 200K – February 2018
Rowan and Charlene decided to do our first 200 kilometre Audax cycling event, since the one we did in Canada in June 2017, on mainland Australia in Victoria. We’ve cycled some of the roads included on this event before, so we had some idea what to expect, but we’ve done it under cooler conditions. This ended up being a very hot ride!!
