Round the Mounts (fmrly The Immortal)

Audax Theme
After 2 days where the mercury topped 42c we were very lucky with the today’s weather for Scott’s The Immortal ride. Four of us lined up at the start: Elbert, George, James and Warren; all doing 123km.
Originally called Round the Mounts the 123km version has vm1722, mostly in the 1st half. Starting in Bridgewater we weaved our way up to Mt Lofty within 15 kms then headed out to Lobethal via Deviation and Lobethal Rds. Following Kenton Valley Rd, Burfords Hill Rd, Angas Valley Rd and Warren Rd, we turned into Cricks Mill Rd, conscious that Mt Pleasant and lunch weren’t far away.
The return trip headed towards Tungkillo and Mt Torrens. Thankfully, instead of having to take the Onkaparinga Valley Rd we set up a nice steady pace on the Amy Gillet bikeway: it’s fabulous. Climbing our final hill – Germantown Hill – up to Bridgewater, we knew we were close to home. A great day out.
