Challenging climbs and magnificent scenery.

Rode to Little River and had a brew at the Little River General Store/Post Office before the start (Opens at 0600-1800 weekdays and 0800-1500 on the weekend). Little River General Store will stamp your Brevet Card with the Post Office Stamp.The designated Depart/Finish is Little River Railway Station, which has lovely old bluestone buildings. The outward trip is around the North side of the You Yangs. Most people only see the South side but the North side is worth the effort. Lots of wild flowers, rocky outcrops and duck ponds. The “featured image” was taken between Durdidwarrah and Meredith on the outbound journey, when you see these rocks get ready for some climbing. At Meredith there is a General Store/Post Office and I collected another stamp. On the way back there is a climb up the You Yangs “Turntable Drive”. The top of “Turntable Drive” places you at the start of the walk to Flinders Peak if you are so inclined; there are toilets there. It’s a quick ride down the turntable and short trip from here to the finish at Little River. I collected another stamp at Little River General Store and enjoyed a brew, some hot food and a bit of rest before heading home.

Definately plan to do this ride again.
