With glorious weather a team of Audax riders undertook yesterday’s Kaurna Country Climber. All chose the 150km option … a solid workout with vm 2200+ climbing, starting with the obligatory Corkscrew. We welcomed Kylie and Julian who’ve ridden with Audax previously and who we hope to see again.
It turned out to be a fabulous day with the highlight for me being either our 1st control at Strath (80kms) and the customary sausage roll and choc milk for lunch or witnessing Julian’s group photo of the group atop Corkscrew Rd. Check it out.
The route took us out to Balhannah and Littlehampton, through Mt Barker (which has become v busy) and onto Strath via Long Valley Rd (which was quite busy and a rough surface on which to ride). Coming back via Paris Creek Rd we headed for Meadows, then our 2nd control at Clarendon. With all the roadwork done on Clarendon Rd and Main Rd, these two are now beautiful to ride on.
