Editor’s Guidelines for this Website

The following guidelines have been developed to assist Editors in producing consistent content for the Audax Australia Website.

Introduction

The video below is an introduction to editing Posts and Pages on WordPress websites.

Content

The Audax Australia Website contains 5 content types that Editors may manage:

  • Posts – All Audax News content is managed in Posts
  • Pages – Home, Regional and other pages presented in the main menu
  • Ride Reports – Ride Reports can be created by all Members
  • Feature Rides – Content of Audax Australia’s Prominent Ride events
  • Knowledge Base – Content relating to Audax History, Audax Management, Rider Knowledge and Ride Organiser Knowledge.
Posts

Posts are Audax News articles.
Based on which Categories (Regions) are selected, the Audax News articles appear in:

  • the News section on the Front Page
  • the News section on Regional Pages and
  • Audax News

Steps to Add New or Edit a Post include:

  1. Add a Post Title
  2. Select the Categories (Regions) the News Post should appear in.
  3. Add a Featured Image
  4. Add an Excerpt
  5. Add Content including Images, formatting the content in line with Standards as appropriate
Pages

Pages are structured articles typically placed in the main menu. These include:

  • Home page
  • Regional pages
  • Forms, and other content

Editors will predominately be managing the content of Regional pages.

Note: the Featured Image for Pages is the Page Banner.

Ride Reports

Ride Reports can be written by Members, also Editors can edit their content.
Based on which Categories (Regions) are selected, the Ride Reports articles appear in:

  • the Ride Reports section on Regional Pages and
  • Ride Reports

Steps to Add New or Edit a Ride Report include:

  1. Add a Ride Report Tile
  2. Select the Categories (Regions) the Ride Report should appear in.
  3. Add a Featured Image
  4. Add an Excerpt
  5. Add Content including Images, formatting the content in line with Standards as appropriate
Feature Rides

Feature Rides are intended to showcase Audax’s premier rides.
Based on which Categories (Regions) are selected, the Feature Rides appear in the:

  • Feature Rides section on Regional Pages and
  • main menu: Rides > Feature Rides

Steps to Add New or Edit a Feature Ride include:

  1. Add a Feature Ride Tile
  2. Select the Categories (Regions) the News Post should appear in.
  3. Add a Featured Image
  4. Add an Excerpt
  5. Add a Ride (Start) Date
  6. Add Content including Images, formatting the content in line with Standards as appropriate
Knowledge Base

Knowledge Base articles cover a group of topics to assist in developing Audax related skills including:

  • About Audax Australia
  • Audax Management
  • Audax History
  • My Riding
  • Rides
  • Ride Organisers

Steps to Add New or Edit a Knowledge Base article include:

  1. Add a Knowledge Base Tile
  2. Add a Featured Image
  3. Add an Excerpt
  4. Add Content including Images, formatting the content in line with Standards as appropriate

Posting Audax Content in Social Media

After publishing content in the Audax Australia website, it can be then easily posted on Social Media.

Go to the content (Post, Ride Report, Feature Ride or Knowledge Base) on the Audax website, at the top select the Social Media to post to.

To present Facebook timelines, events and messagesin a WordPress Page or Post,

Use Grammarly for Spelling and Grammar

To deliver consistent spelling and grammar install Grammarly as an extension to your browser.

Also, create a free Grammarly account and configure Language Preference to Australian English.

  1. In the WordPress Editor > Add Block > Formatting > Custom HTML
