Big Buckley’s 300
After following the buzz of those audacious Aussies in the lead up to this year’s PBP, I figured that if I was ever going to emulate this sort of amazingly absurd feat then I better start riding beyond my standard 100 to 200k comfort zone. What better way to be brave than to do it […]

FNQ Mossman Sugar Town Tour
Sean and Mary and their volunteers put on a great ride in Mossman, offering three distances from 70ish to 150ish km. Or thereabouts, maybe. Our fabulous volunteers, Kim, Mundi and Jenny were waiting in the darkness with brevet cards ready for the hoards of cyclists that suddenly took over the normally quiet township. The ride headed along the quiet back roads of […]

BVRT 70 – The “Just Right” Dirt Ride
Leading up to this ride the weather had been highly variable, either insanely hot, bucketing down or somewhere in between. Driving to Lowood there was no rain, mist on the hills and in the valleys, the temperature cool and pleasant. Perfect conditions it seemed.

Where-I-bee Meredith 150
Challenging climbs and magnificent scenery. I was fortunate to have the good company of Robert Wilkinsion. The designated Depart/Finish is Railway Place, Werribee Railway Station. The outward trip is around the North side of the You Yangs. Most people only see the South side but the North side is worth the effort. Lots of wild […]

FNQ Atherton Altitude Loop
With a “real” wet season visiting FNQ for the first time in years, picking a route that will keep everyone above the high water mark has proved a challenge. Hence our FNQ Audax year started a little later than normal with Atherton Altitude Loop. As usual, we started precisely on time…… with everyone racing out […]
