Regional Roles

Each Region elects a Regional Committee annually from club members. The Regional Committees meet regularly to report on and manage regional rides and social events as well as communicate with National and other Regions as appropriate. Each Regional Committee comprises:

Regional President

The Regional President is:

  • Responsible for the overall direction and management of the Region, including delivery of regional events, permanent rides and social activities
  • The chair of the Regional Committee.
  • Responsible for the financial management of the Region in accordance with the Audax Australia Regulations, the National Committee and the National Treasurer’s directions
Regional Media and Communications Coordinator

Deliver regional media and communications, including:

  • Regular Regional Newsletters
  • Automated Newsletters for Upcoming Rides
  • Create Regional Posts on the website
  • Manage regional social media (Facebook)

Also work with the National Media and Communications Coordinator to improve media and communications tools and processes.

Regional Brevet Secretary

Position Description

The Regional Brevet Secretary works closely with the Region’s Ride Organisers and the Region’s Treasurer in processing the weekly brevets promptly and accurately for Club members. This job requires meticulous checking of riders’ details and events to ensure accurate information is submitted for processing.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Regional Brevet Secretary ensures that:

  • The correct information is recorded for the rides that are being processed
  • Permanent and Calendar Event brevets are processed timely and accurate manner
    (This typically requires weekly input, including prompting of ride organisers)
  • New Permanent rides are established correctly, and existing Permanent rides are maintained

Knowledge and Skills Required

Ideally, the Regional Brevet Secretary is someone who is:

  • Well-informed on the ride processes
  • Methodical and well-organised
  • Experience with Excel is helpful
  • Can communicate effectively and keep tabs on the events within the region.
Regional Calendar Coordinator

Position Description

The Regional Calendar Coordinator works closely with the Region’s Ride Organisers, the Region’s Committee and the National Calendar Coordinator to coordinate and prepare the Region’s annual ride calendar.

Responsibilities and Duties

The Regional Calendar Coordinator ensures that:

  • The event information is clear, complete, consistent and correct
  • The events are scheduled evenly and appropriately throughout the calendar year. Reference: Calendar Guidelines
  • The events are open for registration on time
  • The calendar is published on time.

Knowledge and Skills Required

Ideally, the Regional Calendar Coordinator is someone who is:

  • Well-informed on the ride processes
  • Methodical and well-organised
  • Experience with Excel is helpful
  • Can communicate effectively and keep tabs on the events within the region
Organise Rides
  • Calendar Events are developed and managed
  • Permanent rides are developed and managed
Organise Meetings and Social Activities

Including, for example:

  • Regional AGM
  • Ride and non-ride social activities
Regional Media and Communications

Update members with relevant Audax information, including:

  • National News
  • Regional News
  • Upcoming Rides
  • Ride Reports
  • Ride Statistics

Use existing tools and methods to achieve this:

  • Create and maintain Event and Permanent banners
  • Create regular Regional Newsletters to communicate with members
  • Automated Newsletters for Upcoming Rides
  • Create Regional Posts on the website
  • Manage the Regional Facebook account
