I have one of these critters, and I love it for the single set of (good Li) AA batteries required for a 1200k. (I don’t love it for the tiny fonts)
Sure you have to chop up long routes. Sure you can get your recorded ride chopped up if it is >350k. This is old tech. But it’s so simple to use and I have never lost data. Ever. Which I cannot say about my other Garmins. However, what I miss is that you cannot upload rides without a cable to a computer (no bluetooth). Or so I thought. But there is a thing called an “On the go” cable, where you can connect the Etrex300 to your phone and from the Strava app, you can upload you ride. On the go.
