Northern Nouveau Series

Our Northern Nouveau Series allows you to ride 1, 2 or 3 events on the last weekend of October. Your choice! But if you complete all 3, you will have cycled over 300 km for the weekend and you will have become eligible for the Nouveau Randonneur Award.

Event Name: Northern Nouveau Une

Distance: 50 km

Start our Northern Nouveau Series, based out of Hadspen, Tasmania, with the Nouveau Une on the evening of Friday 25 October. The Nouveau Une is a quick 50 km jaunt to Westbury and then an amble back to Hadspen on quiet country roads.

With a time limit range of 1 hour 40 min to 3 hours 20 min, you can choose to complete the ride quickly or take it at a more relaxed pace.

Event Name: Northern Nouveau Trois

Distance: 160 km

The Nouveau Trois is the longest of the three rides at 160 km, and will be held on Saturday 26 October starting at 8 am to give you the time to complete the ride and get a little rest before the final event on Sunday. On this event, riders take in a bit of climbing on the way to Deloraine, and beyond, and then loop back to Hadspen on the multitude of quiet roads this area has to offer.

Keep in mind that your speed will need to be between 15 and 30 km/h including all breaks. This is the second step to the easiest Audax award, the Nouveau Randonneur

Event Name: Northern Nouveau Deux

Distance: 100 km

The Nouveau Deux is the mid-length of the three rides to finish the Audax year, and will be held on Sunday 27 October, starting at 9 am to wrap up the easiest Audax award, the Nouveau Randonneur, and give you time to get home. The Nouveau Deux is a 100 km ride travelling south from Hadspen with a loop westward up and around back to Hadspen again.

Even at the minimum speed of 15 km/h, you will still finish this event by 3:40 pm.


Ranelagh Ramble

A tour through the Huon Valley starting and finishing at Calvert Park, Judbury. A few stretches of dirt road, but not too many hills. After the ride feel free to stay and have a BBQ.

Use this ride as an early warm-up for the ASH Dash 200 coming up at the beginning of December …
OR as a test of your legs for the Cygnet Cycling Festival on Saturday 9 November.

Event Name: Ranelagh Ramble

Distance: 50 km or 100 km

Beacon On The Hill

50 km and 100 km BA rides starting at Tamar Marine at the mouth of the South Esk River (The Gorge) on the West Tamar. There is ample free all-day parking in the service road near Tamar Marine.
The 100 km ride is an out and back to Beaconsfield. The West Tamar Hwy has a good riding shoulder all the way out and back to Legana, and between Legana and Beaconsfield the ride is quiet. Please note that there is a 2 km section of good gravel road on Old Kirk Rd under the Batman Bridge each way. The checkpoint at 51 km is Moon Lily Cafe in Beaconsfiled.
The 50 km ride can be ridden as an out and back from Launceston to Gravelly Beach, or a one-way ride from Launceston to Beaconsfield.

ASH Dash 200

The ASH Dash is Tasmaniaโ€™s premier 200km+ endurance ride. This 208 km ride, with 4,250 m of climbing, takes in some of the most spectacular climbs and stunning scenery south of Hobart, so bring your camera and climbing legs!
Supported: Yes!
Start: Salamanca Place – Outside Law Courts 7AM. Look for the Audax Flag/Signs.
Finish: Parking Lot north of The Whaler (between Salamanca Pl and Castray Esplanade). Look for the Audax Flag/Signs.
