Penguin Parade 300
Find the penguin in Tasmania’s north during a 300 km ride with a 20-hour time limit, including all breaks.
Riders on this Audax Tasmania 300 km Adventure start in Hadspen and cycle northwest to Penguin via the scenic route! Have a look at the Topiary in Railton. Explore northern coast of Tasmania! Enjoy the views of the Bass Strait.
You’ll have the choices of riding the North West Coastal Cycleway out of Latrobe to Devonport, or the road. The route continues through Turner’s Beach, Ulverstone and Penguin via road or North West Coastal Cycleway.
On the return trip, you’ll visit Sheffield and have the opportunity to see some of the murals. In the evening, you’ll ride quiet country roads to Deloraine (stop at the Subway or a Pub for dinner), and back to Hadspen.
The route is Tasmanian Flat with 2,830 metres of climbing over the 300 km.
We offer no guarantees with regard to wind and other weather. Come prepared with lights, reflective gear, and all-weather clothing. Don’t forget your camera for a photo of the penguin!!

Come for the AGM, stay for the camaraderie.
Beacon on the Hill
50 km and 100 km BA rides starting at Tamar Marine at the mouth of the South Esk River (The Gorge) on the West Tamar. There is ample free all-day parking in the service road near Tamar Marine.
100 km Brevet – Launceston to Beaconsfield (Out and Back) This Audax Tasmania brevet follows the West Tamar Highway, which offers a consistently good riding shoulder from Launceston through to Legana. Beyond Legana, the road quietens and the ride becomes especially enjoyable as you approach Beaconsfield. Riders should note a 2 km section of well‑maintained gravel on Old Kirk Road beneath the Batman Bridge, encountered in both directions. The 51 km checkpoint is flexible—anywhere within Beaconsfield is acceptable.
50 km Brevet – Two Riding Options The 50 km route can be completed either as:
an out‑and‑back ride from Launceston to Gravelly Beach, or
a one‑way brevet from Launceston to Beaconsfield.
Both options offer quiet roads, river views, and the relaxed charm typical of Northern Tasmania’s Audax riding.

Audax Permanents
Permanent Brevets are “events” that may be ridden at any time by Audax Australia Members and visitors from overseas who are members of long-distance cycling clubs affiliated with ACP. As a minimum, such visitors must have a one-month Audax Australia Membership.
They are intended for experienced randonneurs because riders will be on their own and must be self-sufficient.
To register for a Permanent Brevet, visit the Permanents Register. There, you will be able to view the ride routes and make your selection.
